A couple of months ago, fans were overwhelmed by the cuteness of former actor Hairul Azreen and actress Hanis Zalikha’s daughter Alisa Aisyah’s interaction with her favourite national shuttler Lee Zii Jia (李梓嘉). After being heartbroken that her parents met the athlete while she was in school, the celebrity couple decided to surprise the young fan by inviting her idol over to their home again.
The special bond between the badminton player and this adorable fan is still going strong. Yesterday (Sunday, 5th August), the actor-turned-film director posted a video of his little girl Alisa drawing her hero while watching him in action on TV.
Lee Zii Jia is currently competing at the Paris 2024 Olympics where he had a match against his opponent Thailand’s World champion Kunlavut Vitidsarn yesterday at the Adidas Arena in Port de la Chapelle. Unfortunately, the 26-year-old lost 14-21, 15-21 to the Thai player during the intense tournament. As seen in the screenshots above, the moment was witnessed by Hairul and his daughter, who was drawing what she saw on the TV screen.
“We love Lee Zii Jia. It’s okay, our hero,” the celeb captioned the Instagram post. Netizens couldn’t help but notice the amount of blue hearts drawn on top of the Malaysian athlete in the child’s sketch to match his uniform, further proving her unwavering support for her idol. Many followed suit by sending blue hearts in the comments sections while others were touched by how sweet and cute it was for Alisa to show her love for the shuttler.
Although Lee Zii Jia lost the opportunity to proceed to the finals, he still has a chance to bring home an Olympic medal as he will be facing either Denmark’s defending champion Viktor Axelsen or India’s Lakshya Sen in the bronze medal playoff match later today.
