It’s bittersweet whenever a beloved star leaves the entertainment industry to pursue other endeavours. Kate Tsui (徐子珊) was one of Hong Kong’s top actresses when she announced her retirement in 2019 – but fans still wish to see her back on the television screen.
Since her retirement, many of Kate’s fans have continued showing love for the star through social media postings. However, one fan was shocked when one of their recent posts was acknowledged by Kate herself. The fan shared, “I suddenly thought of her (Kate) in the middle of the night. I then saw a post about her on my XiaoHongShu account, so I posted it and tagged her Instagram account. I didn’t expect that she would see the post!”
According to the fan, the tagged account was the account Kate used to promote her jewellery designs. The actress left the entertainment industry in 2019 to further her education. However, before leaving Hong Kong for Europe, she deactivated all her social media accounts but left up the Instagram account. While she may not have posted anything new on the account, she uses it to stay updated with what’s happening with her fans.
In April 2024, Kate interacted with fans and liked a comment using her sole Instagram account. This interaction led to tons of excitement from fans who urged her to return to the entertainment industry. Likewise, her recent appearance on Instagram also had fans begging for Kate to act in a new drama, adding that they miss seeing her on television.
Fans aren’t the only ones who miss the talented actress because her former co-star Ron Ng (吳卓羲) once spoke about wanting to meet up with her. Unfortunately, even Ron had difficulties getting in touch, saying he lost contact with Kate after she moved to Europe. He also urged fans to share how he can contact the retired actress.
While there isn’t any news of a comeback, we sure hope Kate will at least consider being active on social media again. We’re sure fans and her former co-stars would love to interact with her again.
