While we’ve seen some happy relationship news lately, others haven’t had much luck in love. Recently, there were rumours that Chinese celebrity couple Michelle Chen (陈妍希) and Chen Xiao (陈晓) are heading for separation after eight years together.
The rumours first came from a notable paparazzi who claimed that the couple have had marital problems for a while. The paparazzi claimed that Chen Xiao formally filed for divorce from Michelle at the end of last year. The actor also reportedly left the couple’s home and has been living separately since the start of the year. Shockingly, the actor did more to cut ties with his wife.
Allegedly, Chen Xiao also changed his phone number and blocked Michelle’s contact. Reportedly, the actress could only contact him through another person, which left her with an emotional scar. The paparazzi even pointed out that Chen Xiao never posted a birthday wish for his wife’s 41st birthday last May, which the pair regularly does for each other. There were also rumours that Michelle was left to care for their son alone since Chen Xiao is no longer home.
The celebrity couple first met when they co-starred in the 2014 Chinese drama, “The Romance Of The Condor Heroes (神雕侠侣)”. The two married in 2016 and had their son in the same year. However, it’s worth noting that they had dealt with rumours of marital problems for a while. After the marriage, Michelle and Chen Xiao kept a low profile, which led many to believe the two were not getting along. While Michelle and Chen Xiao had denied it multiple times, the rumours kept emerging.
As of reporting, Michelle and Chen Xiao’s respective agencies have yet to respond to the rumours. We can only wish the two the best, and may they work out their differences amicably.
