After seven years of marriage, actress Nora Danish and Nedim Nazri have officially agreed to part ways. The divorce proceedings were held at the Federal Territories Syariah Court in Jalan Duta, where Nedim pronounced ‘talak satu’ (the first of three divorce pronouncements) before Syariah Judge Abdul Fattah Datuk Kamarudin at 8:34pm.
In an interview with Berita Harian Online following the proceedings, Nora Danish expressed her desire for public support and understanding during this challenging period. “My ex-husband and I have mutually agreed to end our seven-year marriage. It concludes here tonight. Our primary focus now is to raise our children with love and positivity. I hope you will pray for the best for us and our family. I also hope there won’t be any speculation about our separation, as we prioritise the harmony of both families and our children,” said the 43-year-old actress.
41-year old Nedim, whose full name is Mohamed Nedim Mohamed Nazri, declined to provide further comments. He attended the proceedings without a lawyer, while Nora was represented by lawyer Ahmad Badri Idris. However, the couple arrived together at the court in a black multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) at 7:40pm.
Earlier this year, Nora disclosed that their marriage had been experiencing difficulties. She admitted that they were doing their best to manage the situation in order to avoid any negative impact on their child. However, a few days later, Nedim described their issues as mere “manja” quarrels, denying any serious marital troubles.
Nora and Nedim were married on 30th March, 2017, and they have a 6-year-old son, Mohamed Neqayl. Nora was previously married to Datuk Rizal Ashram Ramli, also known as Jejai, on 20th June 2006. They have a 15-year-old son, Putra Rayqal, and divorced in 2008.
