Malaysian fans are excited about the number of renowned celebrities finally hitting the shores of our country at last.  Local fans were overjoyed when the Korean solo singer IU (아이유) who announced her “HEREH” tour in Malaysia last January. Amidst of the joy from the announcement to IU herself handing out snacks to fans at KLIA, a number of fans complained over the concert’s seating arrangement at her concert over the weekend.

A Twitter user brought this matter to light with a single picture which showcases an empty area with only a few people seated, facing a pillar. The caption read, “IME really charged RM500 for these seats. RM500 for the concert vibes and a pillar”, pointing out how useless it was to pay a hefty amount and only be able to face the pillar.

The matter gained the attention of other concertgoers that night, and more fans started shared their own perspective. One fan added she paid a total of RM900, where she was situated next to the big screen and could only see the main stage. As a result, the fan experienced migraine after the show due to being near the stage’s screen.

According to sources, the organiser decided to sell the tickets near the pillar area right when the show was about to start despite knowing their view would be blocked. “Literally right in front of a pillar. If the price was RM200, I would’ve understood. Not to mention, they only started selling the tickets when the show started”, fan tweeted.

On top of that, another fan shared their experience of sitting behind the pillar. The Twitter user claimed that it was extremely hot and apparently her view was blocked by another person who couldn’t see the stage well.

It is known that IU’s concert was organised by iME Entertainment which took place at Axiata Arena. Previously, similar comments were made regarding the organiser’ failure to provide proper service for the same venue. This concern lead many fans to recommend K-pop acts to find a different organiser or a different venue to ensure fan satisfaction.

Since a concert can be sacred to fans, as many view it as a way to finally witness their idols live, it’s arguably crucial for organisers to keep audience satisfaction in mind. What do you think? Share with us your thoughts!
