Although it came as a shock that former DOLLA member Syasya got married shortly after quitting the successful female pop group, most of her fans wished her the best in her future endeavours. However, there were some who disagreed with her choices. Even though the singer has personally explained her departure, she didn’t mention much about the man she fell in love with until very recently.
During an interview with OhBulan at the couple’s wedding ceremony over the weekend, the former girl group member shared more details about their relationship and what attracted to her husband, Nasrullah. Here’s what she said:
Syasya revealed what drew her to Nasrullah when they first met, saying that it was his resemblance to the famous character Nobita from one of the most iconic anime-manga series of all time, “Doraemon”. As if it isn’t obvious enough, Syasya is obsessed with this fan favourite franchises. “It’s one of the reasons why I was attracted to him, ’cause he looks like Nobita and I’ve always loved ‘Doraemon’. Every time I look at him, I’m reminded of the series,” she said.
The songstress’s husband also explained that prior to them meeting each other, Nobita was actually a nickname given to him by close friends and acquaintances. While many would be annoyed, he never minded the comparison. This revelation may not actually come as a surprise since the 23-year-old shared a drawing of Nobita and Shizuka getting married in her personal message to fans about her decision to leave DOLLA.
It was also during the ceremony, held at the Majica Subang Hall, Selangor, that Syasya and her husband clarified rumours about the singer’s grandmother -actress Rozie Othman- disapproving of their marriage. “I’ve already given hints to her that I wanted to get married soon. She was just surprised that it happened after she had just returned from her Umrah,” the former DOLLA member explained.
Although surprised, Rozie was actually thrilled about the marriage and even treated the newlyweds when they met her. “We met up with her not long after the solemnisation. She was so sweet and even treated us to a meal,” said Nasrullah. We’re glad they were able to clear the miscommunication before their big day.
