BIGBANG debuted in 2006 with five members named, G-Dragon (권지용), Taeyang (태양), T.O.P (탑), Seungri (이승현) and Daesung (대성). However, a few of them left the group which struck a chord within Daesung as he is seen to have persistently mentioned the group’s three remaining members in a recent interview.
In the latest episode of the singer’s YouTube show “Zip DS”, Daesung invited several celebrities including actress Lee Yu Bi, actor Lee Joon, and CNBLUE Lee Jung Shin as guests for an in-depth, almost intimate interview. In the first few minutes of the interview, the idol met up with Lee Yu Bi first and had casual conversations about their personality types.
As the conversation escalated, Daesung mentioned it was his first time meeting CNBLUE’s Lee Jung Shin despite being in the industry for a long time. Lee Yu Bi then questioned, “Are all five of you introverts?”. The singer responded with ease but ended his answer with “There’s only three of us“.
Throughout the video, there were a few occasions in which the “Bang Bang Bang” artist would immediately interject with the guest and restate the number of members by politely saying “Only three of us”. His consistent correcting was perceived as reminding the guests. Yet, the 35-year-old never specified further regarding the repetitive statement being made.
It is known that Seungri left the group first in 2019 due to his involvement with the Burning Sun scandal. Later in 2023, T.O.P then announced his departure from the group, leaving only G-Dragon, Taeyang and himself.
Aside from the statements, Daesung also mentioned the setbacks he faced during his debut days with the rest of the guests. He also recalled how fun and reckless things were when they were young, giving an impression that he may reminisce about memories with the rest of the members.
