Mark your calendars for a cinematic extravaganza on the horizon as the much-awaited action-comedy, “The Chosen One”, set to grace the Malaysian screens in a grand spectacle. Its grand premiere in Malaysia is scheduled for 18th May 2024 at Berjaya Times Square, giving fans the opportunity to meet the star-studded cast on the same day!
Helmed by the visionary director, Lim Suat Yen, the film promises a lineup of esteemed actors hailing from Taiwan, Singapore, and Malaysia. Among the luminaries soon to be spotted at the premiere are Yao Kuo (郭書瑤) from Taiwan, Angel Lim (林汐) from Malaysia, Zong Zijie (宗子杰) from Singapore, as well as the legendary actor Gurmit Singh (葛米星).

Produced by prominent Singaporean media company NoonTalk Media and co-produced by Malaysian film production powerhouse Current Pictures, “The Chosen One” has received support from the National Film Development Corporation (FINAS). This collaborative effort was made to underscore the film’s dedication to illuminating Malaysia’s rich cultural tapestry as well as promote local talent on the global stage.
Speaking of local talents, fans will be given a chance to meet the talented lineups including Gurmit Singh, Yao Kuo, Zong Zijie and Angel Lim! Here are the details for the official premiere and the meet & greet session:

“The Chosen One” unfolds a gripping tale of mystery and intrigue, following the journey of our protagonist, Ah Jie, portrayed by Zong Zijie. Wrestling with the burden of his power, Ah Jie grapples with the moral implication of its use, leading to a series of captivating events. Notably, Gurmit Singh, renowned for his iconic role of Phua Chu Kang brings his signature flair to the role of Master Bai Yun, infusing the character with unparalleled charm and charisma.
The narrative takes an unexpected turn when Ah Jie’s reluctance to aid a friend attracts the attention of the intrepid paranormal vlogger, Sora, played by Angel Lim. Their encounter sets forth a chain of events, unravelling the enigmatic past of our here who’s intertwined with the mysterious Ah Jiao, portrayed by Yao Kuo.
