South Korea woke up to devastating news this morning as they mourned after the untimely passing of Korean singing competition star, Park Bo Ram (박보람). The statement released by her agency, Xanadu Entertainment had declared that the young singer had passed away on Wednesday (11th April).
The cause of her death remains unknown and further information will be released later by said agency. For now, the mystery of South Korea’s beloved singer – who just turned 30 last month – had left some people on Twitter speculating, yet many mourn her sudden death.
The singer was reportedly found drinking with two of her acquaintances on the night of 11th April. It is reported that her acquaintances grew worried as she did not leave the bathroom after quite some time, leaving them to call the authorities immediately. Upon arrival, they discovered she had collapsed in the bathroom.
The police urged the public to not make any speculations regarding the issue. It is known that the National Forensic Service is conducting an autopsy. Hence, it is difficult for them to disclose any details at the time of writing.
However, the singer-songwriter was reportedly working on new music, with plans to release it at the end of this year to celebrate her 10th year debut. Last week on 3rd April, she released a single titled “I Miss You” as a small teaser for her upcoming project, leaving her fans excited. On top of that, she celebrated her birthday last month (1st March). Little did her fans knew that it would be her final celebration.
The Chucheon based celebrity rose to fame after participating in the popular singing show, “Superstar K2” in 2010. In 2014, the actress released her debut album, “Beautiful” that ended up becoming her hit as it showcased her unique vocal abilities. Her soulful voice and undeniable talent earned her recognition and paved the way for her success in the music industry. Subsequent releases then further solidified her position as a rising star, garnering fans locally and internationally.
Despite her young age, Park Bo Ram had already made a significant impact in the music scene, captivating audiences from all over the world with her powerful vocals and heartfelt performances. She is known to have sung for various Korean Drama hits including, “Hyde Jekyll, Me” (2015), “Reply 1988” (2015) and the infamous “Touch Your Heart” (2019) series which featured Lee Dong-Wook and Yoo In-na.
In the midst of this tragedy, her fans flooded Twitter and Instagram with heartfelt messages as they recalled her first debut, some are still in a state of disbelief over her sudden passing. It is undeniable that Park Bo Ram’s music remains as a testament to her talent and legacy as her songs will continue to offer solace to listeners and comfort in times of sorrow.
