Bruno Mars is singing but someone’s bells are ringing! You guessed it, just like it happened at concerts by other artists, there was indeed another marriage proposal at this most recent show! Earlier this year, the Grammy-winning songwriter and producer announced his Asia Tour including a three-day show in Singapore.
He kicked off his show on Wednesday (3rd April) at National Stadium Singapore with his list of songs from his 2010 debut album “Doo-Wops & Hooligans” which also features the popular track “Marry You”. During the performance of the hit song, a fan caught another fan proposing to his girlfriend.
The heartwarming moment was caught and posted by user @/shichiybot on Twitter the night of the concert. As seen in the photos posted, such an event had everyone in awe. The crowd was seen gathering around the newly engaged couple and cheered for them in excitement. There is currently no information from the original poster on who the lovely couple might be but netizens replied to the post with just as much enthusiasm.
One netizen quoted the tweet, stating “When is it my turn?” since it is almost everyone’s biggest dream to be proposed at a concert. While another replied to the post with, “This is becoming a tradition at any Bruno Mars concert”, indicating that this was not the first time anyone has proposed to their lover at his shows.
After a quick check, we can confirm that many have proposed to their significant others during the song “Marry You” and there have been multiple TikToks roaming where similar moments occurred with only a few being noticed by the American performer himself! Some even joked that at every concert from Bruno onwards, they will be expecting a proposal taking place in the crowd.
That wasn’t the only thing that happened that evening. Towards the end of the first day of the Singaporean show, fans were surprised by a classic that they weren’t expecting to randomly hear. During intermission, the concert’s keyboardist, John Fossit played Singapore’s infamous National Day song, titled “Home” by Kit Chan. The song surprised the fans yet they enthusiastically sang along to the local patriotic classic which powerfully echoed the stadium.
