Despite earlier reports that the rumoured Apple Store in The Exchange TRX would open in February, an opening date has yet to be announced. While we patiently wait for the exciting launch, let’s first take a look at the newly opened Apple Store in the Jing’an District of Shanghai.
Apple CEO Tim Cook was recently in Shanghai, China to officiate the launch of the brand-new Apple Store, which is said to be the largest outlet in Asia and the second largest in the world. Every store has its own unique features but perhaps this newly launched one could help us gain more insights into what we can expect from Malaysia’s first store.
As seen from the photos above, Shanghai’s latest Apple Store was built around a circular public plaza and the team behind this beautifully designed building was the renowned global architecture firm Foster + Partners, the same company behind other Apple Stores around the world such as the one in Battersea, UK and Mumbai, India. From the outside, the store may appear small but there’s actually a staircase that leads to the lower floor.
Unlike the outlet in the Pudong New District, this particular store does not have a cylindrical glass entrance with stairs that leads down to the store underground but it’s still beautiful nonetheless. Now begs the question, will our very own Apple Store at The Exchange TRX look anything like this one in the Jing’an District?
