We’re closing in on the end of Ramadan with just one more week to go until Raya comes. Many Malaysians celebrating are already getting their to-do lists done for Raya – from buying new Raya clothes to decorating the house. Besides the usual, another thing that many adults have to prepare for the upcoming festivities is Raya money or ‘duit Raya’ to give out to the younger ones.
While Raya money isn’t a must for the Aidilfitri celebration, giving some cash can put a smile on people’s faces. Typically, exchanging new notes for Raya packets requires a visit to the bank. However, some banks have started offering smaller denominations at their ATMs to make it convenient for those too busy to wait at the counter. If you’re looking to change new notes for your Raya packets, here is the list of ATMs that you can visit to get all the cash you need:
Maybank
There will be 72 Maybank ATMs around Malaysia that will dispense RM10 notes for those preparing for Raya packets. The RM10 notes will be available from 1st to 9th April 2024. However, Maybank does encourage customers to recycle their old fit notes as a more environmentally friendly move as it can help promote sustainability and conserve resources.
The list of Maybank ATMs dispensing RM10 is as follows:
Bank Islam
At the selected machines, Bank Islam is offering RM10, RM20, RM50 and RM100 denominations for those exchanging new notes. However, the notes will differ according to the branches. The bank has already started offering this service but no closing date has been announced.
Here are the ten Bank Islam ATMs that you can visit:
CIMB Bank
CIMB Bank will also offer to exchange new notes at nine selected ATM branches. However, the service is only available in Johor, Sabah and Sarawak. Like Maybank, the machines will only dispense RM10 notes. The new notes will only be available from 4th to 10th April 2024.
Here is the list of CIMB Bank ATMs offering new RM10 notes:
Affin Bank
Affin Bank is offering new RM10 and RM50 notes at over 200 ATMs. The new notes are only available from 3rd April to 10th April. There will be a daily withdrawal limit of RM5,000, subject to the customer’s card limit and the amount of cash available at each machine.
The list of Affin Bank ATMs dispensing RM10 and RM50 are as follows:
If you’re curious about the other banks and whether the same service will be available under their machines, you can contact their customer service for more information. However, many banks have urged customers to reuse fit notes or partake in e-Raya packet gifting using mobile banking apps.
