It’s no surprise that celebrity entrepreneur Dato Aliff Syukri lives a luxurious lifestyle and owns a stupendous bungalow located in Kota Damansara which he named Aliff Syukri’s Palace.
However, not everyone is a fan of the luxury home as an interior designer (known as FillaStudio on her socials) recently criticised the public figure’s house in a (now-deleted) viral TikTok video saying that it looked like a Tom Yam shop. Obviously, the comment offended the businessman so he decided the appropriate response to the remark would be to sue the individual. Here’s what he said:
Yesterday (Tuesday, 26th March), Aliff Syukri posted a video on his Instagram page to respond to the interior designer’s criticism about his home. Without mentioning the designer’s name, he insisted that everyone has their own preferences when it comes to their home.
“It’s my house so I can do whatever I want. You didn’t need to mention any names in your video but you did so of course I was offended. Just wait for my lawsuit letter,” he stated. In the video, the controversial celeb mentioned the times his ‘palace’ was listed and nominated as the most beautiful houses in Malaysia and provided screenshots of magazine and article headlines as proof of his claims.
Aliff also claimed in the video’s captions that Filla who criticised his house was not registered under the Malaysian Institute of Interior Designers (MIID) as there were no results of her name when he searched her online. “How dare you say my house is like a tom yam shop. Let me see your house,” he added. After the IG post went up, netizens were mostly amused by the “Kelopok Raya” singer’s response.
Many thought it was ridiculous for the entrepreneur to sue someone over something so trivial while others sided with him saying that the interior designer who made the remark was just jealous of his wealth.
Whether or not Aliff Syukri was serious about suing this individual, one can’t disagree that you should think twice before commenting on people’s homes, especially if they’re rich and famous. Watch his response below:
Update (Wednesday, 27th March)
Shortly after Aliff Syukri posted his response, the interior designer released a statement to apologise to the entrepreneur for her previous comments. Here’s the full statement:
