A quarter of the year is coming to an end, and sadly, we’ve had to say goodbye to some. Unfortunately, TVB actor Ti-ko Chen (陈狄克/Forest Chan Dick Hak) and “King of the Minibus” Ma Ah Muk (马亚木) recently joined the list of those who have left us.
Today (18th March), the passing of both men was announced, with many mourning them and remembering all they have done. Reportedly, Ti-ko Chen and Ma Ah Muk passed away due to illnesses on 15th and 17th March respectively.
Veteran TVB actor Ti-ko Chen had felt unwell a few days ago and was sent to the hospital for medical treatment. However, it was later revealed that he had passed away on 15th March at age 76. Ti-ko Chen is best remembered for his various villainous roles in TVB dramas, earning him in the nickname “御用奸角 (Queen’s Traitor)”. Notably enough, he’s acted in over 130 dramas in his career of 51 years.
Investor and business mogul Ma Ah Muk’s passing was announced by his children who issued an obituary. The notice stated that Ah Muk passed away at the Hong Kong Baptist Hosptial at age 96 from an illness. His funeral service will be held on 30th March, and his final rites will be conducted on 31st March. He will then be laid to rest at the United Chinese Cemetery in Macao.
Ma Ah Muk is best remembered for being the founder of Hong Kong’s largest minibus company which earned him the title “King of the Minibus”. He’s also famously known for his propensity of investing in “exciting” investment opportunities that will deliver long-term returns. In addition to his impressive track record, he had claimed to have never incurred any losses in his investments.
Alongside news of Ti-Ko Chen and Mah Ah Muk’s passing, the reason for 29-year-old internet celeb 赵赫 (Zhao He) or better known as 快乐小赵 ‘s passing last year on 14th November 2023 was recently revealed. Reportedly, he had been suffering from diabetes and had later been found in bed in his apartment, where he lived alone.
Each of them have left behind a legacy, one way or another, and will be sorely missed. Our hearts go out to those who knew them, and we sincerely hope they will find peace in their passing.
