Chinese musician and writer 李潇茗 (transliteration: Li Xiaoming) made her mark on the world with her literary works and songs, despite her young age. Unfortunately, her works have become her legacy after she passed away at age 25 recently.
Li Xiaoming has been favoured by many, not only for her delightful writing and music pieces, but also for her elegant looks. As such, it came as a shock to many when it was announced that the musician and writer had passed away on 14th March due to poison.
The news was first shared on her socials, reportedly by her family, a day after her passing. The post read: “Li Xiaoming, a writing enthusiast, unfortunately passed away due to poisoning by 10% suspension of chlorfenapyr at age 25. This is the only obituary.” The news left many shocked as reportedly, several had been waiting for her next literary work.
Most offered their condolences and wished her a peaceful passing. But, some began speculating about her death. A few wondered if she had accidently been poisoned, while others opined it wasn’t possible, given it was common knowledge that the insecticide (chlorfenapyr) was very poisonous. A handful even suspected she had committed suicide, theorising she had been suffering from depression or was lovelorn.
Li Xiaoming has published 18 singles and 4 albums as a musician. As a writer, she is best known for her time-travel novels, “醒来成了伊丽莎白一世”, “成为北美洲女皇” and “成为叶卡捷琳娜女皇”. She also posts quite a bit about fashion and travels on her social media.
Our hearts go out to all who knew the young musician and writer. It truly is a loss for the artistic community. We sincerely hope they will be able to find peace in Li Xiaoming’s passing.
