Apart from great quality and amazing services, what makes a business successful and memorable is also a catchy jingle. Many of us grew up hearing iconic tunes for the Paddle Pop ice creams, the Malaysia Truly Asia tagline and even the number to call for Pizza Hut deliveries but did you know that all these catchy melodies were sung by the same singer?
This may come as a surprise to some of you but the voice behind our childhood advertisements was none other than singer-actress Atilia Haron! During a recent trip to Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand, content creator Shelen Wong met up with the star and asked her to sing some of the famous songs.
In her TikTok video posted over the weekend, the influencer asked Atilia if she was the singer for the Paddle Pop ice cream advertisement, to which the songstress replied by singing the iconic jingle. The 49-year-old went on to sing her other popular jungles for Malaysia Truly Asia and Pizza Hut.
The video blew up on the social media platform with netizens expressing their surprise after learning who the singer behind those memorable jingles was. Many started reminiscing about their childhood after hearing the “Jangan Menangis Cinta” star sing the jingles. One netizen suggested that Atilia should participate in the Masked Singers contest and perform those jingles.
We personally reached out to Atilia to see how she felt about the viral video and here’s what she had to say: “I am thankful that I am still doing jingles and voiceovers until now and I’m so blessed to see many people are reminiscing the jingles that used to be iconic”.
