Ed Sheeran officially announced his return to Kuala Lumpur last year for his +–=÷× Tour (The Mathematics Tour) – and since then, Malaysian fans have been counting down the days to the long-awaited concert. Before you head to the concert on 24th February at Bukit Jalil National Stadium, here’s what you need to know and what you can expect:
According to PR Worldwide, gates will open at 5pm, but ticketing and merchandise booths will be open as early as 12pm. Opening act Calum Scott will take the stage first at 7:45pm before main act Ed Sheeran starts performing at 9pm. Please have your tickets ready before the show, and for Category 1 and 2 ticketholders, remember to collect your wristbands. Here’s the list of items prohibited from the venue:
Fans are encouraged to take public transport to the stadium. You can take the LRT Sri Petaling line and stop at the Bukit Jalil station. However, PR Worldwide discourages waiting at the venue overnight or camping to avoid any accidents and unwanted incidents.
Given Malaysia’s recent weather conditions, water stations will be located at multiple points around the stadium so fans can rehydrate when necessary. Empty plastic refillable bottles measuring less than 1 litre are allowed into the venue for tier-seated ticket holders only.
Before his KL show, Ed Sheeran performed in Singapore and Bangkok, Thailand. By the looks of it, the concert setlist is pretty much the same, so here’s the list of songs he’s expected to perform:
As mentioned, fellow British singer-songwriter Calum Scott will be opening for the concert. The powerhouse vocalist is expected to perform ten songs, including his hit “You Are the Reason” so be there early if you don’t want to miss out.
