Sometimes, things don’t go as planned and that’s exactly what happened to influencer Ceddy Ang, a.k.a @ceddyornot, around midnight (Thursday, 15th February) sadly. The content creator was on his way to Resorts World Genting for some relaxation when his car suddenly hit a giant pothole near the Gombak Toll Plaza.
Thankfully he was unharmed but his car’s tyre was unfortunately punctured after hitting the pothole. “All I can do is wait for the tow truck to arrive. Now, who is responsible for fixing the pothole??” he wrote on his socials at the time of the incident.
As seen in the video, the tow truck driver arrived to move the influencer’s damaged vehicle. Although he didn’t manage to go to his destination, Ceddy was tickled by the tow truck driver’s joke about his predicament. “Tow truck guy is here and this dude HAD THE AUDACITY to say ‘You were going to Genting right? This [tow truck ride] is just like a roller coaster.’ Oh dear😂,” the food reviewer wrote on Twitter.
With all that being said, Ceddy was still upset by what happened. He took to Instagram Story to complain about the pothole that caused his tyre to puncture. “The tow truck driver’s joke was funny but what was not funny was the fact that my tyre was punctured because of the pothole! Who is responsible for fixing them? I wasn’t even speeding,” he said.
The influencer then posted a screenshot (as seen above) of the location where the incident happened. He explained that since it was nighttime, the road was dark so it was difficult for anyone to quickly spot the hole in the road to avoid it. “For everyone’s safety, something really needs to be done about this”. Just a few moments ago, Ceddy also claimed a biker fell off his motorcycle after hitting the same pothole.
If you’re wondering how Ceddy is doing, we reached out to him and he told us he’s fine and that he’ll get his tyre fixed later today. Of course, the TikToker wasn’t the only one concerned about the potholes as many netizens shared the same sentiment. Some even tagged the Road Safety Department (JKJR) to look into the situation to avoid any major road accidents in the future.
Potholes have been a long ongoing issue in Malaysia but for some reason, it would usually take a major accident or even vandalism for any immediate actions to be taken to fix the damaged roads. We truly hope that things will improve in the near future.
