Not many people can say their first kiss was with a world-renowned actor – but Kelly Lin (林熙蕾) is one of them. The Taiwanese actress recently revealed that her first kiss was with Hong Kong megastar Andy Lau (刘德华)!
The 48-year-old actress hasn’t appeared in many movies or television ever since her marriage in 2011, but she recently starred in the upcoming movie “The Movie Emperor”, alongside Andy Lau. Besides this film, the duo have starred in a couple of movies together, most notable being the 1999 hit “The Conmen In Vegas”, which was their first co-starring experience and Kelly’s first leading role in a major film.
In a behind-the-scenes video for “The Movie Emperor”, the two stars were reminiscing about their first time starring together in 1999. At that time, 24-year-old Kelly and 38-year-old Andy played a couple, and during the movie, the two shared an on-screen kiss. While reminiscing, Kelly shyly revealed that the kiss they shared in the film was her first.
When Andy questioned if it was her first on-screen kiss, Kelly surprised the room by saying, “Both of them”, meaning it was her first kiss in general and for a production. Even “The Movie Emporer” director Ning Hao (宁浩) was shocked by the sudden revelation, which the actress kept a secret for 25 years. Andy then jokingly said, “Don’t put so much pressure on me!”, causing more laughter at the set.
The chemistry between the two stars remained strong after all these years as crew members for their new movie revealed they had great cooperation during the filming. Fans have also voiced their interest in catching the flick once it comes out in February, sharing their excitement to see Kelly and Andy share the screen once again.
It’s great to see the two share on the screen again after over two decades and we hope to see more of Kelly in 2024!
