Malaysia’s national zoo, Zoo Negara, is celebrating its 60th Anniversary! In conjunction with the huge milestone, they’re giving free admission to kids and senior citizens this January!
The zoo announced the news through a video on their social media accounts. In the video, the zoo interviewed several visitors to share their thoughts about the zoo and send their regards for the zoo’s anniversary. At the end of the video, Zoo Negara shared the great news that they will give free admission to kids and senior citizens on 27th January (Saturday), in conjunction with their 60th Anniversary.

However, the offer is only limited to children below 12 years and senior citizens above 60 years. Unfortunately, adult visitors will still have to pay for an entry pass – but Zoo Negara assures visitors that there are plenty of exciting events and activities lined up to celebrate the special day. To save time on the day of the celebration, you can book your tickets online through the official website. Meanwhile, the free entry for kids and senior citizens will be redeemable at Zoo Negara on the day of.
For those curious, Zoo Negara officially opened its doors on 14th November 1963, meaning its 60th Anniversary was last year. The zoo now houses over 5,100 specimens from almost 500 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish.
