We are only halfway through January and already, there’s another car crash incident. Previously, a Swiss driver lost control of his Myvi and rammed into a petrol station in Ipoh, Perak which resulted in a woman being injured from the crash.
Thankfully, no one was on the ground floor during this recent terrifying incident when a car fell from a building’s parking lot. While there were casualties reported, the driver definitely could’ve lost his life if the car had fallen from a few floors higher. Here’s what happened:
Over the weekend, something unexpected happened that left Setia Alam locals shocked. At around 11:30pm, a BMW car fell from the second floor of the Top Glove Tower’s parking lot with the driver still inside. According to reports, it was said that the driver crashed into the parking lot’s wall which caused the car to fall and overturn when it hit the ground.
The vehicle landed on a nearby grassy area of the premises and as seen in the photos above, the car was heavily damaged with the bumper falling off, and the ground covered with glass fragments. Witnesses quickly gathered at the scene from inside and outside of the Malaysian rubber glove manufacturer building. As for the driver, he reportedly suffered injuries from the fall and was immediately taken to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) Klang for further treatment.
“Upon arrival at the location, the car was found in the grassy area after falling from the second floor of the parking lot and the victim was removed before the fire brigade arrived,” Assistant Director of Operations for Selangor Fire and Rescue, Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar told reporters. Details about the extent of the driver’s injuries as well as how exactly he collided with the parking lot’s wall have yet to be disclosed.
However, it’s suspected the injured man was under the influence as the case is currently being investigated under Section 45A(1) (Drunk Driving) of the Road Transport Act 1987. At the time of writing, there have been no updates from the authorities regarding the incident. Watch the video of the aftermath below:
