Most of us believe in marrying for love. However, this young man’s relatives are hoping against hope that he will eventually settle for marrying a girl whom he doesn’t love.
Recently, a groom in China was spotted looking particularly miserable and gloomy on his wedding day. As it turns out, he wasn’t happy because he was marrying a girl he didn’t like, let alone love. But his relatives were certain it was still better than the alternative— being single.
According to Chinese media, this awkward and unhappy wedding ceremony had taken place in Guizhou, China. Despite the merry decorations around the room, it didn’t change the couple’s grumpy countenance as they sat together on the bed. They did not speak to each other throughout the ceremony and their upset demeanour made everyone else embarrassed to talk to them.
The groom apparently kept an impassive look on his face, making it very clear that he was not happy with the situation. But, everyone else allegedly held their tongue as they wanted the ceremony to be completed. In fact, the groom supposedly understood why his family was insistent about going through with the marriage.
Apparently, despite looking decent, his family was poor enough that most would think twice about marrying him. His relatives too insisted him having a wife was better than being single. They claimed things could change in the future if the two worked together for the good of their family and their life would eventually get better.
Well, we can’t deny that some arranged marriages work out in the couple’s favour. We aren’t too sure about the future of this particular couple’s marriage, regardless, we wish them well and hope they will do what’s best for both of them.
