“Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside.” If you’ve visited Kuta in Bali, then you’ve probably heard of Warung Eropa and its star attraction – the famous crispy fried duck. Good news foodies, Warung Eropa recently made its Malaysian debut at The Exchange TRX.
Spanning a legacy of 18 years, Warung Eropa first started as a humble establishment in 2000, serving both Indonesian and Western dishes. However, it soon became apparent that diners simply can’t get enough of the crispy duck. The meticulous preparation involves marinating and cooking the duck in a bouquet of spices for a minimum of 48 hours, followed by overnight tenderization and final cooking the next day.
Keen to know more about Warung Eropa? Here are some fun facts from its owner Tania Arlene and her team:
How Warung Eropa found its way to Malaysia:
Our motivation and vision to establish Warung Eropa was just a dream at first, but with the encouragement of supportive friends, we made it a reality. After chatting with my friends from Malaysia, we were inspired to bring the unique flavors and atmosphere of Bali to new customers. And now, here we are in Malaysia, ready to share our love for Indonesian cuisine with everyone.
What makes Warung Eropa stand out from other competition:
We have a skilled chef from Bali who consistently whips up exceptional dishes, such as the delicious Bebek Goreng. In addition to our skilled culinary team, our restaurant is thoughtfully designed to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that aligns with our Authentic Home Cooked Meal concept. Our decor features an Indonesian Chinese Peranakan vibe and is adorned with antique pieces to provide a classic Indonesian ambiance. To enhance the dining experience further, we play a compilation of smooth jazz music, creating a relaxing atmosphere that encourages our guests to unwind and engage in meaningful conversations with their peers.
Avoiding common mistakes:
No point offering a huge menu if you can’t control the quality. Many restaurants make this huge mistake of offering a huge menu to cater to large crowds but end up serving not so good food. Focus on your strengths in terms of food even if it’s only 10 items that you can serve with perfection, then be it. People come for good food and not a huge menu.
Where do all raw materials come from?
Our raw materials come straight from the luscious lands of Malaysia, but the magic of our preparation and mouth-watering taste will teleport you straight to Bali! From the first bite to the last, you’ll be transported and won’t even notice that you are actually in Malaysia!
Warung Eropa isn’t Halal certified though.
We believe that any restaurant that serves or sells alcoholic beverages on the same premises should not be granted a Halal certificate. Nevertheless, we want to emphasize that at Warung Eropa, all of our dishes are pork-free.
Best selling dishes.
