Witnessing a fight in public can be pretty scary – so it’s hard to imagine how visitors at this Johor mall felt seeing this fight happen in front of them.
The video of the alleged fight was first uploaded onto Twitter by the account MALAYSIA MOST VIRAL, and it shows a man and a woman fighting. Shockingly, the man seemed to have choked the woman as she struggled to break free from his grasp. The woman started screaming for help, even yelling out, “Help me! He’s trying to kill me!”. At one point, the woman even threw the man’s show away, perhaps to lure him away from her. The video also shows the surrounding shoppers standing in shock at the scene.

The video went viral and garnered many reactions from netizens, understandably horrified by the incident. The caption for the video also raised the question of the man’s boldness in inflicting pain on a woman in public, saying that he could do worse when in private. Many netizens also voiced their concern for the woman and her safety. Some also condemn the crowd for not intervening or saving the woman from the man.
While not confirmed, many netizens have concluded that the fight took place at AEON Mall Tebrau City in Johor, based on the background. There is no other context for the video nor the relationship between the man and the woman. However, many have urged authorities to investigate the incident, claiming that it could be a case of domestic abuse. However, some have noted that the woman may suffer from a mental illness and that the man could have acted in such a manner to withhold her from acting erratically.
