Yesterday (10th December), KTM passengers were shocked when a local woman in her 30s suddenly jumped onto the train tracks at a Kuala Lumpur KTM station.
According to news reports, the incident happened at around 10am. The unnamed woman suddenly jumped onto the train tracks and was struck by the incoming KTM train. Onlookers immediately called for authorities following the jump. Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department personnel rushed to the scene after receiving the report.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department spokesman, the woman was successfully removed from the tracks and had miraculously survived the hit. However, she sustained several injuries, most severely injuries to her head. The woman is in her 30s and had allegedly jumped onto the tracks as a suicide attempt. Preliminary investigations also show that the woman had trespassed into the KTM station, indicating the jump was premeditated.
Paramedics examined the victim immediately after she was pulled out of the tracks, revealing that she was still conscious after the hit. Authorities rushed the victim to Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) for treatment. However, as of reporting, the extent of her injuries is still unknown.
