After announcing his “Pandemonium” world tour back in August, fans have been excited to see Joji live in concert at Merdeka Wall, World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur which was supposed to take place tomorrow (30th November).
Unfortunately, the US-based Japanese singer-songwriter just shared devastating news to fans earlier today (29th November), announcing that the show will not go on. Here’s why:
Both Joji and concert organiser Live Nation Malaysia took to Instagram to announce that the singer’s “Pandemonium” concert in KL has been cancelled. What made the news even more heartbreaking is that his upcoming concerts in two other countries have also been cancelled.
The 31-year-old posted on his IG Story saying, “Unfortunately, I won’t be able to make it to my upcoming shows in KL, Singapore and Hong Kong due to health reasons. I will be back, I promise!” The “Die for You” artist, however, did not specify what kind of illness he’s currently recovering from that has led to the decision to cancel the 3 shows. Live Nation Malaysia reposted the IG story on their official page to inform fans about the cancellation.
“We regret to announce that Joji will not be able to continue his performance for his upcoming Pandemonium Asia show in Kuala Lumpur due to health reasons. Ticket refund details will be announced soon. We appreciate your patience and understanding and apologise for any inconvenience caused,” they wrote.
As expected, fans were devasted to hear the news about not being able to see their favourite artist live in person. Many expressed their frustrations about the last-minute announcement since some of them arrived from different states and countries to see the singer in KL. Others also suggested that the show should be rescheduled rather than cancelled especially if Joji is serious about resuming his cancelled shows.
At the time of writing, the concert organiser has yet to give updates about the ticket refund process. Regardless, we hope that Joji will keep his promise. For now, get well soon Joji!
