A wedding day is supposed to be one of the happiest days of anyone’s lives. It’s unfortunate that Thai groom Chaturong Suksuk decided to end his day in tragedy.
A few days ago, a wedding in Korat, Thailand, turned into a massacre when the groom murdered his bride, his mother-in-law, sister-in-law, a guest and himself. Needless to say, the incident left many horrified and shocked.
According to the Bangkok Post, the tragedy had taken place on 25th November around 11.30pm. At the time, newly married Chaturong Suksuk (29) and his 44-year-old bride Kanchana Pachunthuek were attending a wedding party, held in their honour. They had just tied the knot earlier that morning.
Reportedly, the duo had been living together as a couple for three years before deciding to get married. However, guests and relatives noticed that during the party, Chanturong looked far from happy to be with his bride. Things came to head when he left the party in the middle of the night to go to his car. He then retuned with a pistol.
He fired shots, killing his bride, her mother, younger sister and a guest. Another guest was also caught in the crossfire and was badly injured. Chanturong then committed suicide on the spot by shooting himself. He reportedly died instantly. It was later revealed that eleven bullets had been recovered from the scene.
Police divulged that Chaturong had been a former marine soldier. While on duty, he had lost a leg after it had been run over by a train. Additionally, he was a member of the Thai paralympic athletes team in the 11th Asean Para Games in Indonesia in 2022, winning a silver medal in swimming. Police are reportedly looking for a motive.
Our hearts go out to all who were affected by the shooting. We sincerely hope they will find peace in their loved ones passing.
