Being stalked in a public space is already scary enough, but being stalked in a parking lot where there aren’t many people be could extremely dangerous as one could be kidnapped. This woman was terrified when she noticed that a man had been waiting for her to exit the car when she arrived at a shopping centre with her friends.
Yesterday (Thursday, 23rd November), a woman posted a video on Twitter to expose a man who had been stalking her and her friend in the basement parking lot at Pavilion Damansara Heights. According to the netizen, the man had apparently been waiting for her to exit the car so that he could talk to her. In the video above, the man claimed that they had been in contact through WhatsApp.

At one point, he even silently took their photo with his phone, pretending to look up a message as proof that they had been in contact. “This guy claimed that we knew each other. Luckily, I locked my door and my friends were there too. It was terrifying. Girls, please beware. I’m still traumatised after what happened 😭,” she wrote. The victim was definitely fortunate to have her friends with her who told the man that they were rushing to a private event.
However, the man was persistent in trying to gain their trust; asking for the woman’s number and following her and her friends into the shopping centre. After noticing that the stalker was still following them, the girls quickly approached a security guard to help them lose the man. The tweet gained a lot of attention from netizens who sympathised with the victims and condemned the man for his inappropriate actions. Some even shared their own personal experiences of being stalked.
As seen in the screenshot above, the victim posted a follow-up tweet to respond to those who blamed her for the incident. In her post, she wrote, “(There are) a lot of cases of women being sexually harassed in parking lots. (Say) whatever you (want) to say but we know how to differentiate a normal guy approaching and a creep. If you (watch) the video (again), you can see that he was clearly touching his private parts while he was following us. If you’re still on his side, you need to check (yourselves)”.
At the time of writing, there has been no update on whether or not the victim and her friends have filed a police report against the stalker and a complaint to Pavilion Damansara Heights. The mall has also yet to release a statement regarding the viral incident. We hope that the girls are doing okay and safe from harm.
