There’s nothing more heartwarming than watching one Malaysian help another. And TikToker kicapituhitam encapsulated it perfectly when they caught a helping hand moment between two Malaysians at a petrol station.
The 16-second video showed a man giving the remaining gasoline in his fuel gun to a fellow customer at a gas station in Pahang. While it got most netizens cooing over the video, many also recounted moments they’d helped, or been helped by, other Malaysians.
TikToker kicapituhitam uploaded their video with the very proud caption stating: “This is Malaysia“. It showed a man helpfully fueling up a young lady’s car at a gas station, somewhere in Pahang. The man was clearly using the fuel gun from his pump while his son waited for him near their car. Once done, the lady thanked him, and continued fueling her car from her own pump.
Many were quick to praise the man, saying he was “a good guy“. “Maybe his tank was already full. Giving (the fuel) to others is good,” one comment read. Another joked: “This is how your grandfather met your grandmother last time.” A netizen was happy to declare that “All Malaysians definitely have a good heart.” Other Malaysians were quick to share their own experiences.
“I’ve done this before. (I) paid RM80, full tank at RM74, (since) I was lazy to go to the counter, (I) called a motorcyclist over to give it to him. They thanked me (and shared) he only had RM1 to refuel,” one stated. Others agreed, saying it was a win-win situation for them as they got to give away their extra fuel and feel good doing it. A few added they too had been grateful in receiving the same help.
Well, it’s certainly wonderful to see Malaysians helping one another, and taking pride in doing so. Hopefully we’ll keep up this culture of generosity for generations to come!
