It’s been a hard few years for the aviation business as many of them still haven’t fully recovered from the Covid-19 lockdowns but despite the hardships, they’ve done all they can to be able to get business back on track.
AirAsia was one of the many airlines affected by the pandemic but here they are still standing (or flying) strong. In a video posted by the CEO of Capital A, Tony Fernandes, he expressed his utmost gratitude towards loyal passengers who have supported AirAsia throughout the years.
@tonyfernandesairasia Best part about traveling on AirAsia is that i get to meet our guests and thank them in person. Today i made a special inflight announcement for our crew who have been through three years of hell and back. But they have stayed and fought with us, and now we are back. Despite the high oil prices and the weak currency, we will try to keep our fares low so make good on our promise “Now everyone can fly”. Ps. when we are fully recovered, next inflight meal is on me.
Tony can be seen giving a speech on a recent AirAsia flight. In his speech, he acknowledged that it hasn’t been easy for the airline for the past 3 years and that they’re still recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic. “Providing so many people the chance to fly makes me so happy. It makes everything worthwhile,” he said. Apart from thanking the passengers, the CEO also showed appreciation for the cabin crew for all their hard work.
“It’s been difficult for them as well. Their salaries have been cut. They also didn’t have the chance to fly for two or three years. So please give them a round of applause for all their hard work and we’ll do our best to stick to our motto of ‘Now Everyone Can Fly,” the 59-year-old added. Passengers can be heard applauding the employees before Tony makes a surprising announcement.
Before ending his speech, the businessman thanked everyone again for their support and he promised a free in-flight meal once AirAsia makes a full recovery. During some parts of the video, passengers can be seen personally shaking hands with Tony while they are exiting the plane.
Netizens reacted to the video with most of them thanking AirAsia for their service and hopes that they continue to improve in the future. Will you book a flight with AirAsia once Tony confirms the date for the free meal?
