Good news was announced over the weekend as local director Sabri Yunus married long-time friend and former co-star, actress Angeline Tan.
According to news reports, the wedding ceremony of 62-year-old Sabri and 56-year-old Angeline took place in Perlis last Saturday (14th October) and was officiated by Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin. The quiet ceremony was attended by close friends and family members, including local radio host Issey Fazlisham, who shared the joyous news through his Instagram.
Sabri and Angeline first met in 1992 while starring in the popular Malay sitcom “Pi Mai Pi Mai Tang Tu”. Over the years, the two maintained a close friendship and started getting romantically involved around three years ago. However, the couple put marriage plans on hold so Angeline could focus on converting to Islam. According to reports, the actress converted to Islam in September and now goes by Ardini.
Friends and fans of the two flocked to social media to congratulate the newly married couple. Celebrities who shared their well wishes for the two include Marsha Milan, Beto Kusyairy and Fara Fauzana. Both Sabri and Angeline were previously married and had children from their past marriages. Sabri’s late wife, Norraya Mohd Yusof (who he shares 3 children with), passed away in 2007 after battling cancer. On the other hand, Angeline previously tied the knot to businessman Desmond Ngiam and have 2 daughters together.
Regardless of their past, we’re glad that the newlyweds have found another chance at love again!
