After RapidKL began implementing women-only coaches for all MRT trains along the Kajang Line, many women shared that the coaches – unfortunately – are still boarded by men.
However, it seems that not all men are ignorant of the rule, as one recent viral video showed a male Foodpanda rider helping to police the women’s only coach from the men that board it. In the video uploaded by user Jai Samud, the rider was spotted chasing several men away from the pink-coloured coach.

The implementation of the women-only coaches is to ensure a safe space for female commuters, which is why men are prohibited from boarding the coach. In the video, the rider approached every man he saw in the pink zone and told them to head to the other public coaches. He even pointed out the pink signage and told the men that the coach is reserved for women only.
The video quickly went viral, with the rider earning tons of praise from women, thanking him for helping to police the coach. While it was a small gesture, many women said it meant a lot to them that a man was responsible and respectful for the women’s only space. Many even said the rider deserves a role as an auxiliary police officer for train stations, adding that he should receive pay for helping to police the train.
We hope more men can take a page from this Foodpanda rider’s book and be more respectful to the women-only coach.
