All good things come to an end. And unfortunately for fans of Malaysian YouTube group DISSY (低清), online personality Madeleine Ang aka @/okokokmou’s time with the group is apparently over.
Madeleine Ang or better known by her online handle @/okokokmou has been with DISSY since the near beginning of group on YouTube. However, after several years of starring with DISSY, Madeleine believes it is time for her to close the curtain on okokokmou and her group.
“Hello everyone,” the Malaysian internet celeb started in her latest post. “I’m MOKA.” Madeleine reassured fans that they had not read it wrong and promised that she hadn’t been hacked. It was simply part of her announcement about her new move as an internet celebrity.
“Here are a few things I want to tell all of you. First of all, okokokmou has left DISSY. Leaving the company is not a decision (I) made in a day or two. The main reason is that (I) feel (I) am not on the same track as the company. So, okokokmou (has) chosen to leave,” she wrote.
However, Madeleine added that her leaving DISSY was not the end of her online career. “I have decided to get back in the field with a whole new name and attitude,” she stated. She claimed she would be deactivating her social media accounts with the name okokokmou and re-registering them as MOKA. “As for why (I’m choosing) MOKA, I will explain later, after all this post is (getting) long,” she added.
Madeleine Ang made sure to thank those who had been supporting her as okokokmou, and hoped they would continue to give her another chance under another name. “I know taking the next road isn’t easy, but this time, I really want to live well for myself,” she shared.
She also hoped others would get to know her personally, promising to work hard and not let them down. “okokokmou has closed the curtain, remember to say “Hello MOKA” later,” she ended. At the time of writing, her okokokmou Instagram account had over 330K followers, and her Facebook account reportedly had over 230K.
Her new online personality has been well-received with friends and fans flooding her comments section with support and love for her. Madeleine has also gained over 37K followers on her new Instagram account at the time of writing. However, DISSY has yet to make an official announcement regarding her leaving.
Well, we wish Madeleine Ang well as she reinvents her online personality as MOKA and look forward to the content she will create. In the meantime, all we have to say is: “Hello MOKA!”
