Currently going viral on social media is a story of a police officer who abused his supposed fiancé after she called him out for cheating. In the secretly recorded video, the man yelled at the crying woman and screamed at her for causing problems. At one point in the video, the man was also heard saying, “Once I hit you, I’ll keep hitting you till we’re married.”

The video has since gone viral on Twitter and TikTok, leading many netizens to share their shock over the abuse. Local rapper Caprice also shared his reaction to the story after he and his NGO team, Munafik Hunter, were tagged by netizens. The celeb has also posted about the story on his social media, gaining more views about the incident.
The video also prompted many to investigate the man, revealed to be a police officer named Amirul. Many have also found his Instagram account, leaving him messages and comments regarding the viral video. Netizens have also pointed out that the alleged abuser doesn’t show any remorse as he had posted Stories that implied so.
In response to all the criticism, Amirul posted a video to share an explanation about the incident. According to Amirul, the incident happened over a year ago but he was unaware a recording of the fight existed until it went viral. He also shared that his then-fiancé had called him out for cheating, but he lashed out at the woman because of his bad temper.
However, he said that he repented his actions after he started a family with the woman and was diagnosed with a disability. He also asked the public to forgive him for his past because he wanted to be a changed man. He also revealed that he is now in the process of divorcing his wife.
Many netizens who saw his response were still angry at Amirul, saying he doesn’t seem genuinely repentant. Many also noted that abuse is still abuse, regardless of when it happened. However, some believed him, hoping that Amirul had become a changed man.
