Food delivery riders don’t always have it easy, despite some riders occasionally having some surprising fun on their route. But, this Thai food delivery rider’s story about a recent delivery has left many with goosebumps.
On 18th September, delivery rider Suwat Radomboon took to a private Facebook group to ask for advice. Apparently, he had received a request at 1am asking him to deliver food. To his horror, the place looked abandoned when he arrived, leaving him wondering who placed the order!
From the photos uploaded to his post, it showed a desolate-looking building that wouldn’t look out of place in a horror movie. The building was pitch-black, water stained and completely devoid of life. The conditions left Suwat doubtful about the delivery. “Is it better to call the customer or leave (in) my car?” he asked.
Netizens were quick to advise him to leave. They pointed out that the area seemed unsafe, adding to the fact that it was already 1 in the morning. A few others were concerned it was a trick by scammers. However, some opined he should call the customer first, as they may be in the building.
Suwat later updated his post after 20 minutes, claiming someone had appeared to collect the food. Apparently, the customer had come down from the upper levels with a flashlight, leading the food delivery rider to believe the lights were simply out in the building.
However, Suwat claimed he had a concern. “When I called, I spoke to a woman, but the customer who came down was a man. (He also said): “Thank you for driving here to deliver (the food),” (which) I’ve never heard anyone else say,” he shared. Suwat later added that the entrance to the building was also dark and overgrown, making it difficult to navigate.
To put the matter to rest, Suwat re-visited the site during the day and was pleasantly surprised to discover things were very different. Apparently, he had found traces of life, from car and motorbike tracks to clothes being hung out to dry on the upper floors. Netizens too were convinced there were living, breathing people there and opined they could be homeless people or security guards.
Well, kudos to the food delivery rider for completing his delivery anyway, despite the overly eerie location. We can’t blame him for being suspicious, especially after this local man supposedly experienced paranormal activity at a hotel. Hopefully, he’ll continue to be careful on his deliveries!
