For years, netizens have tried to crack the identity of the father of Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung (張栢芝)’s youngest son, Marcus (張禮承). While there have been many instances of the actress “teasing” the mystery man, there has yet to be a definite name for the father.
However, one name does pop up more often than others – Sung Dong Hai (孙东海), a wealthy businessman Cecilia was rumoured to have an affair with, back in 2015. The two were even photographed with each other once and seemed to have a good relationship. However, claims of the two being together – and Sun potentially being Marcus’ biological father – have repeatedly been shut down by the HK starlet.
Recently, Chinese social media has been buzzing about the new rumours of Cecilia and Sun’s relationship. Netizens believe that the billionaire is Marcus’ biological father and, in addition to that, has also been sued by the actress for domestic abuse. Many netizens were also speculating that the two have begun the process of going to court to fight for the custody of 5-year-old Marcus.
Following the rumours, Sun issued a statement through his lawyer to refute the claims and announce that he would take action against rumour-mongers. In the Weibo post, the lawyer said that the 55-year-old has entrusted the law firm to file a lawsuit against defamatory remarks and will pursue legal action against those spreading rumours about him. The statement added that the rumours have seriously affected the billionaire’s life and his family’s and those posting about the rumours are requested to remove their posts and allegations.
Cecilia has yet to respond to the rumours – but, no doubt, she will once again shut down netizen’s claims.
