As you all may know, the grand opening ceremony of Japan Expo Malaysia 2023 took place on Friday (18th August) at 3pm at Pavilion Bukit Jalil! The event was attended by the Japan Ambassador to Malaysia, Takashi Katshuhiko, and Senior Director of Tourism Malaysia, Mr. Manoharan Periasamy on behalf of Dato Dr. Ammar, Director General of Tourism Malaysia.
The fun continued with the official press conference of the three main acts who wowed fans at the outdoor concert venue on Saturday (19th, August). Before hitting the stage, BALLISTIK BOYZ from EXILE TRIBE (バリスティック ボーイズ・フロム・エグザイル・トライブ), PSYCHIC FEVER from EXILE TRIBE, and Sakurazaka46 (櫻坂46) shared with the media about their experiences in Malaysia so far and what they hoped to achieve in the future.
BALLISTIK BOYZ from EXILE TRIBE
Known for their energetic choreography and for incorporating acrobatic stunts in their performance, BALLISTIK BOYZ from EXILE TRIBE promised fans an exhilarating show that will leave everyone in awe. During the Q&A session, the group revealed that they hope to interact with more fans worldwide through touring the world as well as social media.
For your information, this is Ballistik Boyz’s second time in the country. With events like Japan Expo, not only did they have the opportunity to share Japanese culture with fans globally but they also felt inspired by countries such as our own and hopes to incorporate the different cultural influences into their performances.
PSYCHIC FEVER From EXILE TRIBE
Newly-debuted group PSYCHIC FEVER from EXILE TRIBE revealed that this is their first time in Malaysia and they’ve already tried some local food like Nasi Lemak and roti canai as well as visiting some of the hottest tourist hotspots in Kuala Lumpur such as Batu Caves and the Petronas Twins Towers.
The members mentioned that they plan to do more shopping at Pavilion Bukit Jalil after their performance. The electrifying boyband also shared that they hope to make more wonderful memories with Malaysian fans in the future.
Sakurazaka46
While they may be the only Japanese girl group in this event’s lineup, Sakurazaka46 was far from being overshadowed. Known for their energy and synchronization, each member has worked hard on their perfecting their choreography as well as maintaining good stamina in order to keep up the energy for the entirety of their set.
Just like the previous act, this is also Sakurazaka46’s first time in Malaysia. The members hope to introduce and spread the beauty of Japanese culture to fans worldwide. Apart from that, the band revealed that they’ve tried some local delicacies which they can’t get enough of and plan to explore more of Malaysia’s food scene after the concert.
