Polygamy is a practice where a man marries more than one wife (not necessarily at the same time). While the practice is allowed in some cultures and religions, many have expressed that they’d prefer to stay monogamous without having to share their spouse.
A certain local celeb was called out for his polygamous marriage, mainly because he did it in secret without the consent of his first wife. This influencer wanted to prove that he was different but netizens believe that he was still in the wrong. Here’s why:

Over the weekend, a TikTok video was posted by influencer @abg.tesla where he announced another marriage – this time to his second wife. The video showed the content creator and his first wife performing the Subuh prayer 3 hours before his solemnization ceremony. The TikToker then hugged his spouse who was in tears about the whole ordeal.
“Many have chosen to keep their first wives in the dark when marrying the second but not me. I’ll never lie nor keep secrets from her. My wife has accepted this and has never disgraced me for it,” he wrote in the video. The businessman also revealed how sad his wife was when he first shared the news but managed to convince her about his desires.
The video then cut to the influencer at his solemnization ceremony and ended with a happy selfie of him and his first wife. The post went viral on both TikTok and Twitter and as one would have guessed, it received mostly negative reactions from netizens.

While there were some who congratulated @abg.tesla on his marriage, many were furious at his actions. Some accused him of cheating, speculating that he must’ve dated the second wife without the first wife’s knowledge. Others called him out for using his wife’s grief as content.
In response to the backlash, the influencer posted a “Day In The Life” video the same day where he was seen happily spending a whole day with his first wife. The post’s comments section has been restricted.
