Getting older is not as fun as we thought it would be when we were younger. As we age, we tend to think and feel differently about things, people, and pretty much everything in life, much like Nora Danish’s thoughts on death – and sometimes, our feelings can turn negative.
Twitter user @/localrkyt recently asked netizens, “What is the thing you started to hate as you got older?”. Soon after, the post went viral as tons of Malaysians shared what they no longer like now that they’ve aged – and some answers were very relatable.

One of the common answers the tweet got was going out and being in crowded areas. According to one user, being in places with tons of people wears them down, while another said crowded areas make them feel like raging. Something related to crowds would be long queues – another thing Malaysians hate as they age. Many specified queuing for something viral like a restaurant, saying it’s never worth the long wait.
Something else that Malaysians started to hate as they age would be loud noises and even loud music. One user said loud noises give her a headache, while another said they don’t like listening to loud music. Many netizens also just hate ageing in general, highlighting their weakening body as proof. One user wrote that he’s even scared of leaping over a drain because of his weak knees.
Of course, not everything you hate has to be something “deep” because there were non-serious answers, like one user saying that they hate that their nose hairs are starting to grow out of their nose. Another user shared that they hate durian, even though it was something they enjoyed when they were younger.

It was interesting going through what Malaysians hate as they get older. What would your answer be? Is it something relatable like crowded areas or something more surface like getting grey hairs?
