For those active on social media, it’s not necessarily uncommon to have a backup or even a private account other than your main account. However, some may have different motives when it comes to having multiple alternative accounts.
For instance, this influencer was just exposed for having multiple verified Twitter accounts that he allegedly used for affiliations. Here’s the full story:
Local Twitter influencer Abudi Alsagoff has been known to post and retweet viral content on his profile. But some of the content he retweeted, quoted, or even replied to were allegedly from his own alternative accounts. That’s not all, it was alleged that he bought some of these accounts and use the already existing following to gain more attraction and sales for his business.
Earlier today (Monday, 10th July), a netizen who goes by @rinmansor posted photos on Twitter of accounts that he suspected belonged to the influencer. Another user confirmed those accounts are run by the same person and provided Affiliate IDs of those accounts which include:
- @MawarRashid_
- @CTNurfazila11
- @Drazmanofficial
- @Daddykebenaran
- @twt_penmerah
Many, including influencer Ceddy Ang, thanked the two users for exposing the content creator for his shady activities. Some responded to the posts by urging everyone to block those accounts to avoid the tweet-famous user from putting affiliate links on other people’s tweets in the near future. Others also provided screenshots of how Abudi would interact with his other accounts.
A few also pointed out that the profile photos for all the suspicious accounts were AI-generated. After much backlash, Abudi has yet to release an official statement regarding the allegations. However, the influencer tweeted this when the whole thing first came forth: “Even if the whole world is against you, they can’t bring harm to you. Blessings and trials are all given by Allah. #SelfReminder”.
For now, we’ll have to wait and see exactly how this story unfolds.
