We have seen plenty of influencers flaunt their wealth on social media – but some influencers have also faked their luxurious lifestyle. Recently, a group of forex traders got called out for acting out fake “rich businessmen” scenarios to gain more followers for their business, leaving netizens laughing at their act.
A TikTok user recently shared a video pointing out forex trading influencers using rental planes and empty malls to fake the image of being rich. In the first part of the video, he pointed out how influencers would collectively rent private places to film promotional videos for their trading classes.
@user_error2021 KANTOI…Fighter la sangat..sewa kapal terbang sama2 lpastu rmai2 shoot, dah la kapal terbang tu xterbang pun…lg 1 yg pegi mall space u8 tu buat ape? Dlm tu ade mr diy je 😂😂
The video also showed two other influencers inside the plane counting a large amount of cash to show off their wealth. However, the user pointed out the plane was still on the ground during the video. There was also a scene of an influencer getting into a limousine parked in an empty lot behind the Space U8 mall in Shah Alam, which the TikTok user said is pretty deserted on most days.
After the video went viral, many netizens mocked the influencers for their elaborate actions to promote their business. Some joked about influencers showing off their wealth with large amounts of cash, questioning the need for the money during a supposed business meeting. Another netizen pointed out that an influencer in the video was first shown as a trading partner but then became a driver in another scene, proving the false nature of the video.
At the time of writing, neither of the influencers in the video came forward with a statement on the alleged fake lifestyle. Regardless, it’s still amusing to see the lengths some people would go to show off on social media – but maybe these traders are just faking it till they make it.
