For most people, the popular Perodua Myvi has always been associated with several amusing incidents on the road (Hence its nickname, “The King of The Road). Recently, another rare “breed” of Myvi has managed to catch the attention of netizens on social media.
A Malaysian man and his wife went viral on social media for their nasi lemak business. The couple has been running their small business from the boot of their red Myvi car! According to the man, Mohammad Irwan Zahari, he and his wife just started their business over a week in Cyberjaya.

“We’ve been selling ‘nasi lemak’ in this area since the beginning of this year. We opened our own roadside stall. However, we were unable to carry on our business because we didn’t have a business license. We were also told that hawkers are not allowed in that area,” he shared with mStar.
Irwan also stated that he has tried to obtain a business license, but he still needs to find a place for him to operate his nasi lemak stall. He said, “We couldn’t afford to buy a food truck, due to its high cost. So, we came up with a temporary solution, which is to use my Myvi car. I installed the shelves myself so we can place the side dishes as well as other foods that we’re selling.”
Speaking about the challenge they encounter, the Perak-born man revealed, “Back when we operated our roadside stall, my wife and I were able to serve all the customers at the same time. Now, there’s a limit in terms of movement when using a car. For instance, my wife is in charge of scooping the rice at the back door, while I’ll be handling the side dishes at the car boot. The window at the right back door is open for customers to pick up ‘kuih’.”

During the interview with the local portal, Irwan shared that he’s planning to open their own premise selling nasi lemak in Cyberjaya or Puchong in the future. “We’re planning to rent a private property for us to sell our ‘nasi lemak’. We’ve had enough of getting slapped with summons thrice. Praise be to God, this Myvi car has done a lot for us to make a living. We’ll try our best to obtain our business license. Please pray for us,” he concluded the chat.
