Losing a loved one is one the most painful experience anyone could endure. Yesterday (Thursday, 22nd June), local singer Talitha Tan shared heartbreaking news to her fans that her mother Jenny Wong has sadly passed away. She was 52 years old.
According to local news, the singer’s mother was apparently one of the two women who went missing at the Kampung Orang Asli Pertak waterfall in Kuala Kubu Bharu, Selangor. Here’s what happened:
As reported by Kosmo, Talitha’s mother went on a trip to the waterfall with her friend Yuan Ling where the two spent time swimming in the water. It was believed that the two had drowned after being swept away by the strong current following a heavy rain upstream. The Kuala Kubu Bharu Fire and Rescue team was immediately dispatched after receiving a call around 5:30pm.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Wan Md Razali Wan Ismail told the media that the first body was found pinned between some rocks while Jenny’s body was found 50 metres away later that evening at 10:20pm. The bodies were then taken to Kuala Kubu Bharu Hospital for a post-mortem. The “6HRS” songstress posted 10 photos of her and her mother on her social media platforms a day after the tragic incident.
“10 pictures are not enough to showcase the beautiful soul that you are. You’ve always been obsessed with angels, so I guess you’re now our Angel. I hope you lived a happy life mum, I hope I made you proud, I’m sorry for not being able to give you the life you deserved. Thank you for loving me as I am,” she captioned her post. The musician also posted a video of her crying on IG story, grieving for the death of her beloved mother.
In her Facebook post, Talitha thanked everyone for their support and wishes and shared the date of her mother’s Wake which will be held this weekend on the 24th (Saturday) and 25th (Sunday). Details of the burial are yet to be disclosed.
