Despite being in an industry where one’s life is constantly under a microscope, influencer Ameera Khan has actually been very private about her personal life. So how much do fans know about what goes on behind the scenes for the entrepreneur?
The younger sister of Neelofa recently appeared as a guest on the Studio Sembang podcast, hosted by actress Amelia Henderson, where she recalled many moments going growing up with family members who are in the entertainment industry.
There are not many families in Malaysia where most if not all members are in the public eye. During the podcast episode, Ameera Khan opened up about growing up in the spotlight. “I didn’t feel comfortable whenever there were cameras following us around during our trips to Kelantan cause to me, those moments were private. I didn’t want outsiders to see that part of me when I’m with my family,” she said.
The entrepreneur also added that she didn’t feel comfortable with other people knowing the conversations she had with her loved ones, even in the Kelantanese dialect. “I don’t like that people know so much about me like what my favourite food is. Which is why I’m trying to keep everything in my life private now. You’d only see 10% of my life on my social media,” she elaborated. The public figure also revealed that despite working in the entertainment industry, she’s actually a very introverted person.
Despite wanting to be a host just like her sister Neelofa, Ameera realised that this field isn’t in her forte due to her introverted personality. “I wanted to be like my sister ’cause she was a host but after I grew up I realise I never want to do anything that involves speaking [into a camera or in public],” she stated.
With all that being said, growing up in a famous family wasn’t all bad though. Ameera Khan shared that she had the privilege to model for Chanel on a magazine cover at 16 years old. This launched her career in the modeling industry, and the rest is history.
