Our beloved King and Queen, His Majesty, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Her Majesty, Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tunku Azizah, are known for their down-to-earth and kindhearted personalities. After they were seen casually buying drinks from a bazaar stall, a recent viral video further proves the friendly demeanour of our King and Queen.
Shared by RTM journalist Nursyamimi, the TikTok video was taken during His Majesty’s birthday celebration and highlighted the royal couple’s genuine appreciation for the media. In the video, we see the King and Queen, hand-in-hand, greeting everyone in attendance as they entered the room.

As the video continues, both His and Her Majesty happily greeted guests and thanked them for attending the event. In a touching moment, the King addressed the media, saying, “We love you, media”, to which the Queen added, “We’re going to miss you.”
Upon hearing those words, the media team responded, “We love you too!” to return their love to the royal couple. After the video went viral, Nursyamimi spoke to a local news site to share more about the unexpected encounter. She said she didn’t expect the King and Queen to stop by or hear the King openly expressing those sentiments.
She added that the media felt both touched and honoured by the YDPA and RPA and that both have always shown genuine care for members of the media. As there are less than 240 days before the King and Queen conclude their duties and return to Pahang, the journalist said that the media is going to miss the cheekiness of our royal couple. Netizens have also commented their thoughts about the video, with many sharing their love for the two.
No doubt, the King and Queen’s simple yet genuine appreciation resonates deeply with those in the media.
