Earlier this week, a man was caught dragging his dog on the road while it was chained to the back of his car. Unfortunately, it was reported that the dog did not survive the ordeal. The gruesome act caused an uproar among netizens who condemned the man for his cruelty.
While the identity of the arrested dog abuser was not previously mentioned in reports, netizens did some digging on their own, and here’s what they found:

Based on their findings, some netizens claimed that the suspect who chained his dog to the back of his vehicle is allegedly the owner of the Heng Kee Roasted Pork, a restaurant in Port Dickson that once went viral for one of their staff members dancing to BLACKPINK’s “Pink Venom”.
After this information got out, many netizens left a lot of hateful comments and negative reviews on the restaurant’s social media accounts, urging others to boycott the eatery and demanding that the owner be brought to justice as seen in the screenshots above. The food establishment then quickly went private on all online platforms following the backlash.
Local news outlet Sin Chew Daily contacted a man named Shi Shanwen (transliteration), the son of the Heng Kee Roasted Pork’s restaurant owner to comment on the current situation of his family, especially his father who was accused of the heinous act. The son said that while he appreciates everyone’s concerns, he will not comment any further as his family is currently dealing with the matter.

The local media also interviewed Shi Shanwen’s mother, who said they will resume operating the restaurant as usual despite the backlash. It was also reported that this wasn’t the accused’s first time abusing an animal as witnesses allege they had seen him torturing dogs before. However, this information has yet to be verified.
At the time of writing, there has been no update regarding the case nor did the family who runs the Heng Kee Roasted Pork restaurant released an official statement regarding the accusations. Let’s hope that the right man will be brought to justice.
