It turns out that K-Pop idols are just like us because they, too, are afraid of their Asian mothers. BLACKPINK’s Lisa (리사) recently shared the reason why she rarely posts bikini pictures on her social media – and it’s pretty relatable.
The 26-year-old idol was recently in Bangkok, Thailand for a fan meeting where she played some games and signed some autographs for her fans. During the event, she also shared a few anecdotes about herself, including her favourite things to do during her off time.

According to the BLACKPINK member, she enjoys visiting beaches and wearing bikinis, but, despite this, she rarely uploads photos of herself in bikinis onto her social media accounts. She explained that it’s because she’s shy – and because she’s afraid that her mother would scold her.
It’s known to fans that the group’s main dancer has a close relationship with her family, and many BLINKs are also familiar with her mother as she’s very open about her support for her superstar daughter. After a clip from the fan meet was uploaded onto Twitter, many fans found her witty response adorable and relatable. Some fans had even jokingly asked for permission from the idol’s mother so that Lisa could start posting her bikini photos.

Since BLACKPINK members are known to be a powerful and fierce girl group while on stage, it’s rather refreshing to see this timid side of them.
