For most university graduates, pre-convocation photos are a must because it’s a memory of those precious university days. While most pre-convo photos are taken with your classmates on campus or with your family at photo studios, this graduate decided to have his photos taken out in public.
Faiz Shafiq is a 26-year-old MARA University of Technology (UiTM) graduate who recently had his convocation ceremony. So, to commemorate the event, he decided to have his pre-convo photo shoot in the busy streets of Bukit Bintang alongside his wife, Nur Haidah Batrisyia Hairol, and their young son, Erden Mikhael Haiz Muhammad Faiz Shafiq.

According to Faiz, he graduated in 2021 but only recently had a graduation ceremony because it got delayed due to the Movement Control Order (MCO). His initial plan was to have a pre-convo photoshoot with his classmates but since they decided to skip the ceremony, they turned down his suggestion to have a group photo shoot.
So instead, the 26-year-old decided to have his pre-convo photo shoot with his family and chose the busy Bukit Bintang area as his background. In the photos shared on Faiz’s Instagram page, he and his family were posing in front of various locations near Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. One image also showed Faiz channeling his inner model, as if on a catwalk, amongst a sea of people.
When asked about his reason for choosing Bukit Bintang, Faiz said it was because of the lighting. He explained, “You can really see the ambiance of a modern city there. It’s also easier for a nighttime photo shoot because of all the lights.”
After sharing the results of his photoshoot, Faiz received tons of compliments from netizens, with some even saying they’re inspired to have their photo shoot at the same place. Even we can’t help but be amazed at how pretty the pictures turn out – so kudos to your creativity, Faiz!
