Authorities in Bentong, Pahang have apparently been catching and removing dogs off the streets after receiving complaints from its citizens. Unfortunately, a recent dog catching incident went astray when a dog’s owner passed away while defending it.
Around 6pm yesterday (24th May), authorities spotted a dog wandering in a housing neighbourhood. As they were about to capture it, its owner, an elderly man, appeared to stop them. However, while they were arguing, the man suddenly passed away!
The 70-year-old dog owner had apparently witnessed relevant authorities capturing his dog outside his house. As it turns out, the canine had been wandering about in the neighbourhood as it had not been properly leashed. Concerned for his pet, the owner had rushed out to confront them.
While the two parties were arguing about the dog, the elderly man suddenly passed out. An ambulance was quickly called to the scene. Unfortunately, upon arriving, medical personel only confirmed the man’s passing. As the elderly man lived alone, his neighbours took it upon themselves to inform his children and one his sons reportedly arrived after.
Bentong police are currently investigating the matter and have sent the deceased’s remains for an autopsy. Our hearts go out to the man’s family. We sincerely hope they find peace in his passing.
