Nowadays, you don’t necessarily need to be Korean to become a K-pop idol. There have been many idol groups that have debuted with at least one non-Korean member like BLACKPINK (Lisa), EXO (Lay Zhang), 2PM (Nichkhun), and f(x)(Amber Liu).
Non-Korean idols isn’t a new thing but has there ever been a foreign idol who came from royalty? This young Cambodian Princess recently revealed her plans of breaking into the K-pop industry.
Korean news channel YTN recently reported that 11-year-old Princess Jenna Norodom of Cambodia has taken an interest in the K-pop music industry and plans to debut as an idol one day. The young royal member, who has been active in the performing arts since she was 3 years old, revealed that she has fully immersed herself in the K-pop culture after being a fan of several groups such as BTS, BLACKPINK, and Momoland.
Like any other K-pop fan that has dreams of becoming an idol, the Princess showed her dedication to making her dreams come true by practicing many K-pop dance routines, covering chart-topping hits on her personal YouTube channel, and even showcasing her own musical talents with her first single “You Da One” with Cambodian singer BoBo.
